A two-day meeting of deputy watershed managers of regions 2 and 3 of the country was held at the scientific-applied natural resources training center of Dr. Javanshir, Alborz province. This natural event that happened last week is enough to make the importance of watershed management tangible for people and officials

According to the information base of the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization of the country, citing the public relations of the General Department of Natural Resources and Watershed Management of Alborz province, a meeting of the deputies of the watershed management of regions 2 and 3 of the country was held in Karaj on June 13 and 14, and the issues, problems and expectations of the provinces in The watershed field was investigated

The first day of this gathering started with the speeches of the Deputy Director of Watershed Management, Rangeland and Desert Affairs of the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization of the country, and then the integrated management policies and programs of the watershed area, the introduction of the center, views and related issues were discussed

Dr. Vahid, deputy director of watershed management, rangeland and desert affairs, said at the beginning of this gathering: The watershed management bill of 1402 will be able to help the health of watersheds and improve indicators, therefore, this issue is being pursued seriously

He added: The management of watersheds should be based on the traditional system, especially biological operations, it is not acceptable to focus on the implementation of watershed structures without paying attention to biological operations, biomechanics, and management factors

He also said: In order to synergize the results of the projects and expand this issue, people should be involved in the interests of the areaThe deputy of watershed management, pastures, and desert affairs emphasized: In this regard, attracting the participation of the social responsibility fund and the capacities of paragraph p. note 8 of the budget law of 1402 can be helpful and it is necessary to follow up seriously

Continuing his speech, Vahid announced: the representative areas are a couple of valuable projects of the country, and action must be taken to solve their problems, and this is one of the duties of the general departments of natural resources and watershed management of the provinces

The second day of the conference started with the speech of Sardar Alireza Dor, the advisor and director of the sustainable land management office at the all-round development headquarters of the Ministry of Interior and the senior advisor of the head of the country's Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization.

Then, Dr. Hamid Noori from the International Center for Integrated Watershed Management and Biological Resources (under the supervision of UNESCO) reviewed and discussed the management of the integrated watershed. Also, Dr. Arash Malekian from the Faculty of Natural Resources of Tehran University discussed some topics in this regard.

At the beginning of the second day of the meeting, Alireza Dor said while calling for everyone's cooperation and empathy in watershed management: the roles in integrated watershed management should be clear so that the work has a sound like a symphony orchestra and not an out-of-tune sound.

He added: The Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization owns most of the country's land, but this organization is not respected and important as much as it deserves, and this means that we have not yet understood the essence and the importance of the issue.

He added: The most sacred name of the soil is "Torbet" which we have lost due to lack of suitable vegetation. Therefore, one of the important goals of watershed management is to prevent soil erosion

In this gathering, staff managers, deputy governors of watershed management, pastures, and desert affairs of the provinces, university professors, and researchers were present and reviewed the issues.
