The director of the International Center for Integrated Management of Watershed and Bio-Resources in Arid and Semi-Arid Regions (ICIMWB), during the ceremony commemorating the 40th anniversary of the International Research and Training Center on Erosion and Sedimentation (IRTCES) and the third celebration of Asian Water Week from September 22 to September 26 in Beijing, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two international centers, ICIMWB and IRTCES.

Strengthening international cooperation for the organization of training courses, seminars, webinars, and conferences, as well as defining and drafting joint research and implementation projects between the two centers and the exchange of experts, students, researchers, and scholars to enhance experience sharing and knowledge exchange, are among the most important topics outlined in this cooperation agreement.

Nouri stated: "Considering that the IRTCES is the world's first International UNESCO Category II Center and has close connections with a wide network of scientific and research centers on global water issues (IHP), this collaboration can enhance the educational, research, scientific, and operational programs of  the International Center for Integrated Management of Watershed and Bio-Resources in Arid and Semi-Arid Regions  (ICIMWB) and improve the level of international cooperation."

Mutual membership in the governing boards of the two international centers, ICIMWB and IRTCES, along with the publication of joint research papers and findings, are included in the planned programs for continued collaboration.

It is worth mentioning that during this significant international symposium, attended by ministers and deputy ministers from over 15 Asian countries, 1,300 international researchers, scientists, thinkers, and senior managers participated, with 25 side programs in six different subjects, 13 events, three exhibitions, and one scientific and technical visit held during this important international meeting.
