A meeting with Dr. Leng Srong
Dr. Hamid Nouri, the Director of the International Center for Integrated Watershed Management and Bio-resources, along with his colleagues, had a meet

In this meeting, which was organized with the aim of further coordination between the International Center for Integrated Watershed Management and the UNESCO Office in Tehran, emphasis was placed on the necessity of coordinating and taking necessary actions to hold a governing board meeting in February.

Dr. Nouri, while congratulating Mr. Srong on his well-deserved appointment, provided a brief report on the activities of the center. They then discussed the joint projects between the center and UNESCO in detail.

He also added: Given the complex environmental and regional challenges such as land degradation, climate change, soil erosion, drought, and the spread of dust storms, this center holds great importance for regional and international collaboration in the country. This center strives to address these challenges and facilitate the transfer of international knowledge and experience, while also emphasizing the integration of this knowledge with indigenous knowledge and innovative technologies.We will utilize our national capacities to achieve global goals and UNESCO programs, which fortunately align and complement our national programs in the areas of scientific production, education, and improving the health of watershed areas. This includes capacity building, training, and empowering local communities.

Mr. Leng Srong, the esteemed Head of UNESCO Office in Tehran, expressed gratitude for the initiatives and programs of the International Center for Integrated Watershed Management and Bio-resources (ICIMWB) regarding future collaborations. He emphasized the importance of a joint project with UNESCO on afforestation and the organization of a Council of Governors in February. He also expressed hope and willingness to cooperate in introducing a UNESCO representative from Paris.
