According to the public relations report of the General Directorate of Natural Resources and Watershed Management of Zanjan province, Dr. Farhad Razavi, the expert in charge of International Center of Integrated Management of Watershed and Bio-resources in Arid and semi-arid said: studies of pilot projects by this center have started in East Azarbaijan province in Shabestar watershed, Golestan province and North Khorasan province

In this meeting, which was held on December 12, at the place of the General Administration, Razavi reminded: if the strategic studies are completed this year, executive actions and economic, social, environmental, agricultural and natural resource scenarios in the form of works an operation begins in the context of the regional organization

Stating that continuous planning should be done for this action, he continued: Two of the pilots have developed their activity in the field of service description preparation to 70% and it is expected that they will finalize it by the end of the year; This service description should be flexible so that other provinces can add or subtract clauses to it.

Razavi added: The three selected watersheds will form a roadmap and a new service description framework for the coordination of institutions such as the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, the Ministry of Energy, the Environmental Protection Organization, mines and other institutions

In this meeting, which was held with the presence of the Director General, Deputy Director of Watershed Management Heads of Deputy Departments, Head of Promotion, Information Technology, and Public Relations Department of General Directorate of Natural Resources and Watershed Management of Zanjan Province on one side, and experts of the International Center and Deputy Director of Watershed Management of the organization's headquarters, all present They expressed their opinions about how to interact with the governorate and achieve the goals of integrated management.

Mohammad Imani, the budget expert of the deputy head of watershed management of the organization's headquarters, also noted that the pilot project of watershed management should be carried out with a sustainable development approach; There are different capacities in the villages that can meet their needs in the direction of sustainable development by empowering the villagers and taking advantage of the inherent talents of the region

He added: To achieve sustainable development, we must have a systemic attitude and know that any action taken at the Upstreamwill see the result at the downstream.

The studies of pilot projects for integrated management of watersheds have been started by International Center of Integrated Management of Watershed and Bio-resources in Arid and semi-arid in 3 provinces of East Azarbaijan in the Shabstar watershed, Golestan province and North Khorasan province

The Deputy Director of Watershed Administration of Natural Resources and Watershed Administration of Zanjan Province stated that areas for the implementation of watershed management pilot projects are prioritized and integrated study is needed in those areas, he said: The first step is to prepare a strategic document that requires funding Qezal Tepe area is one of the intended areas for the pilot project.
